A family holiday in Marrakesh

A family holiday in Marrakesh

We are not overreacting when we say human senses truly go nuts in one of the most loved cities in North Africa – Marrakesh. The amazing food scene, bustling souks, and almost endless sun-soaked days will welcome you and your little ones in the honeycomb of narrow streets. Tried and tested, Marrakesh has a myriad of ways to keep the whole family entertained and buzzing, especially the kids. Break away from the norms and embark on an adventurous journey in the land of God.

Amal Cooking School

Kids will get to know so many new things as the family is on the go – about gastronomy (while tasting delicious, nutty baklava or yummy briouats), handmade art, and wide-spread bartering system. Speaking about gastronomy, the whole family make for the perfect candidates for an unforgettable cookery class. The whole family will master the art of tangine. Once the dish is ready, sit down and enjoy the delicious taste of one of the most famous Arabic dishes.

The Atlas Mountains and Berber Villages

Embark on one of the numerous excursions to the neighboring cities of Marrakesh or experience the traditional way of country living in tucked-away Berber villages. From here, you can see the highest peak in North Africa – Mount Toubkal, get a chance to see stunning Imlil waterfalls, and lunch in one of the authentic Berber homes. Kids who love animals will totally love it here as well. Your kids will get in touch with nature through fetching water from the well, milking the goats, and preparing a tea of freshly-picked herbs.

The Palmeraie

Marrakesh is hiding a true oasis nearby. The whole family can head out to the Palmeraie, the breath-taking landscape layered with palm trees, valleys, and desert plains. What does this remind you of? That’s right – camel riding! Children love the exhilaration this unforgettable ride brings, while teens prefer quad biking adventure more. Either way – Palmeraie offers a number of fun activities for the whole family and teaches both adults and children an impromptu geology lesson.

Wat Po Massage Center

Now that you are on a holiday, it would be a pity not to try out at least one of the holistic therapies Wat Po Massage Center provides within the Fellah Hotel. Escape the stress and daily routine in their spa while your kids are having fun at a Fellah Kids Club, where your little ones can learn a lot about a treasure hunting, painting, and some Moroccan poetry as well. Fellah has all levels of the planned entertainment, including theatre and games chill area.

Jardin Majorelle

Marrakesh is a beautiful red city, but you may eventually become a bit tiresome and the constant melee  may make you feel like you would take a break in a park. Jardin Majorelle is a day-dream ideal place for adults and kids. This exotic 12-acre botanical garden hides millions of extraordinary plants amongst shady lanes and tranquil streams.

Bahia Palace

Palais de la Bahia represents everything a Moroccan palace should – it is beautifully ornated with millions of colorful mosaics while arches, fountains, patios, and gardens add on the fairytale-like impression with the kids. Visiting the majestic Bahia Palace, a jewel of Moroccan architecture, will leave the whole family speechless.
