5 Kid-Friendly Ski Resorts in Europe

If you want to make this winter holiday special for the whole family, then you should keep these 5 fabulous kid-friendly ski resorts in Europe in mind. Kids will enjoy the fresh air of the mountains, overcoming obstacles, and conquering the slopes. Don’t worry even if you are not an avid skier as these resorts have a wide choice of fun and relaxing activities. Go to a wellness center, try out Nordic skiing or Segway rides, go to an adventure park – and do this all with the kids.

Avoriaz, France

Avoriaz, a small village nestled near the border between France and Switzerland captivates visitors with the stunning scenery and cute surroundings. Kiddos can take a couple of classes in the Village des Enfants and style crafts with other kids from the resort. If your little ones are not that little, you can take the ESF family lessons together to polish the skills up a bit. Yet, if you like the freestyle scene more, you have snowparks on disposal, while the kids can visit the Burton Kids Parkway. Aquariaz indoor swimming pool is a great option when the youngsters don’t feel like going outside. The whole family will enjoy whirlpools, slides, and saunas this fun-filled place has to offer.

Saas-Fee, Switzerland

Your little ones will have hours of entertainment at their disposal if you decide to stay in the chocolate-box village with gorgeous, Disney-like scenery – Saas-Fee. “The Pearl of Alps”, as they call it, will charm the whole family. A large nursery slope in the center of the village is an ideal option for kids and parents learning to ski. The Rabbit’s ski school provides tuition for young children at the age of 3 in case you want to do some great glacier skiing. Don’t forget to visit the Saas-Free Funpark if you want to spend an unforgettable day with the kids and enjoy gentle bumps, woodlands runs, arches, and tunnels.

Levi, Lapland

Blanketed with snow all the way from November through March, Levi justifies its nickname – the home of Santa Claus. This fantastic ski resort is a top-notch option for non-skier families. Yet, if interested, your kids (maybe even you) will learn how to ski in just a few days. Levi offers non-stop entertainment atmosphere for kids and their parents in the woodland atmosphere – sled races, snowmobile rides, feeding reindeers, going to an adventure with Leevi the Wolverine. However, the biggest impression of all (even for parents) is the SantaPark or Santa’s Elves Hideaway where you can visit Santa Claus in person. Levi is a fairytale-like winter experience you shouldn’t miss.

Arinsal, Andorra

Arinsal is an amazing value ski destination with lots to do and it is perfect for price-conscious families. If your little ones have just started skiing or they could use some more experience, the ski terrain of this resort is an ideal one. Cruisy blue, red runs, tree-lined slopes – your kids will love it. The family can also enjoy dog sledding, tobogganing, snow biking, and end the day with a local quiz at a pub. You should definitely make a visit to the capital of Andora –Andorra La Veila (15 minutes away) if you feel like spending the day enjoying a wide range of pool and spa facilities while the kids are playing at the adjusted spa area for kiddos between 3 and 8 years.

Pila and Aosta, Italy

Pila, the snow-sure village for family vacations, is nestled near the historic town of Aosta. This attractive, compact ski area has to offer up to 70km of uncrowded pistes. Well-maintained runs of Pila are lined with high trees, while the family can enjoy the view towards Matterhorn, Mont Blanc, and Monte Rosa. If your little ones need some help skiing, Evolution Pila Ski School is the right place to drop by. The kids will rest in the cutest inflatable red igloo on the ski slope between classes. Make sure to visit Pila Funpark Chacard and try out snow tubing and bob sledding (kids adore this), go to the ice skating rink, or take a winter balloon ride.
